Keeping maintenance technicians safe: a daily challenge

Restricted-access areas, workshop noise, shift rotations, unplanned call-outs. Ordinary tools were not built for plant work. The result: technicians poorly protected, supervisors overloaded, and health and safety leads exposed the day there is an accident or an audit.

Complex rotas

Three-shift weeks,
contractors, agency staff. Knowing who is working alone, and when, is genuinely hard.

Hostile environment

Exposure to chemicals, explosive atmospheres: the hazards stack up.

Hard to locate

Pinpointing a technician inside a confined or noisy area is difficult.

Patchy communications

In some areas there is no signal at all, and a phone simply will not connect.

What are the risks for a maintenance technician?

Risk of falling

An automatic detection sends an immediate alert in the event of a fall for rapid intervention.

Risk of discomfort

The absence of movement or the Lifeline function triggers an alarm in case of prolonged inactivity.

Machinery accidents

Machinery is a common cause of injury. When it happens, the alarm has to be raised fast.

Chemical exposure

After exposure to chemicals, pressing a button can be beyond the worker. With Neovigie, shaking the phone raises the alarm.

A lone working device built for maintenance work

Protect technicians working alone in the workshop, in explosive atmospheres or in confined spaces,
with a lone working solution that is reliable and quick to roll out.

Multi-trigger alerts for every risk on the job

Falls, immobility, no movement: the alarm is raised even when the worker has lost consciousness.

What sets us apart

Hardware that holds up, respect for the worker's privacy, and a rollout that does not need a project team. No more complicated kit that ends up in a drawer. Here are the six things that make Neovigie the reference for industrial sites, without disrupting production.

An end to false alarms

Unlike ordinary lone worker devices that go off constantly, the Neovigie algorithm picks out the real alarms and leaves your teams to work.

Fiabilité icone

Privacy mode

Location tracking stays switched off in normal use. It comes on at the exact moment an alarm fires, to guide the response.

Fail-safe cover where there is no signal

Our server takes over when the phone can no longer connect. If a worker does not confirm they are out of the dead zone within the agreed time, the alarm is raised automatically.

Built for health and safety teams

A clear interface, a simple rollout and reporting you can read: a tool health and safety professionals can actually use day to day, without technical expertise.

Shaped around the customer: the L'Oréal example

Large international companies such as L'Oréal have already chosen Neovigie to equip their people. With Neovigie, L'Oréal protects staff working in very different conditions, in particular night shifts, weekends and the remote corners of its plants.

What Neovigie brings to L'Oréal:

  • Cover for the roles that need it: Neovigie protects everyone who can end up working alone, from packaging operators to quality technicians and maintenance engineers.
  • Real-time oversight: Supervisors run the monitoring platform themselves, with a live view of who is working alone and every alarm as it comes in.

Protection that holds up:
With Neovigie, L'Oréal has tightened its safety procedures and can be confident of a fast response in an emergency.

Let's build a safer place to work, together.

Why maintenance technicians need a lone working device

Maintenance technicians face daily hazards: work at height, confined spaces such as plant rooms and roof voids, live electrical and mechanical equipment, and call-outs to unstaffed sites outside normal hours.

Without a lone working device, no supervisor and no emergency service is alerted when something goes wrong. That delay is what turns an injury into a serious one, and it is longest on the shifts where the technician is alone.

UK health and safety law still places the duty on the employer to ensure the safety of its employees.
